Our Coaches


Eva Windlin-Jansen
Co-Technical Director 

Eva Windlin-Jansen brings a tremendous depth of talent to the Splash coaching staff. She spent 11 years as a NCAA Division One and NAIA coach, most recently at Gonzaga University.  She has coached All-Americans and All-Conference Players, amassed more than 20 years of camp coaching and nearly a decade of club coaching. A former Swiss National Player, she’s competed in the European Championships, was a Division One player at University of Oregon, appearing in the NCAA tournament, with her team landing in the top 20. She has taken her Splash teams to the Junior Olympics and the National Volleyball Festival, winning several tournament championships along the way.


Chris Kosty
Assistant Technical Director & U-18 Team Head Coach 

Chris Kosty is the Head Coach for North Idaho College and former Technical Manager at Oregon State University. His eight years of collegiate coaching was preceded by a successful career on the AVP pro-beach tour. He was on the US Men’s National Team and played for University of Hawaii and Long Beach State. He’s been the Head Coach at three California High Schools and a camp coach for 16 years, including at Stanford University. He has more than a decade of club coaching experience. This is his 4th year with Splash, assisting the U18’s to their National title win at the AAU Club Championships in Orlando in 2007.


KeLicia Shorts
U-17 Team Head Coach 

University of San Francisco standout athlete, KeLicia Shorts returned to Splash after playing both volleyball and basketball for the Division 1 Dons. She was a force at USF which included a trip tot he NCAA tournament. As a senior she was named the University's Female Student-Athlete of the Year. When she wa snot on the court for USF Shorts coached girls club teams in the Bay area for five years. A Splash Volleyball alumnus, in 2009 her U-15s represented Evergreen Region at the Junior Olympics. KeLicia says she likes coaching young girls to help them further their physical achievements as well as helping them develop their personal skills for later in like such as leadership and responsibility.


Kristen Ponce
U-16 Team Head Coach

North Idaho College Assistant Coach Kristen Ponce, born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, started playing volleyball in the second grade. She attended Kamehameha High School where she made the varsity team as a freshman. Ponce was named to the All-State second team in 2002 and the All-State first team in 2003. Ponce began her college volleyball career at St. Martin’s College in 2004 and transferred to Eastern Washington University the next year where she contributed to the team’s success as a defensive specialist. She has coached at the Hawaiian Islands Volleyball Academy and with the Spokane Splash for two years. Ponce earned a biology degree from EWU and hopes to enroll in the associate’s degree nursing program at NIC next fall.


Trent York
U-15 Team Head Coach 

Trent York started his coaching career as a student assistant at Eastern Washington University, where he saw the Eagles win the Big Sky Conference.  Soon after, York became involved with USAV as a club coach of several age groups, both in the Evergreen and Puget Sound Region.  In 2006, York not only coached a U-18’s club team, but helped revive the first boy’s volleyball program in almost a decade in Spokane. He attended the High Performance coaching clinic in January of 2007 at the Olympic Training Center located in Colorado and the AVCA convention in 2007. York is a member of the Evergreen Region USAV Board and a member of AVCA. In 2008 he ran the USA High Performance tryouts at the Pacific Northwest Qualifier, and was a court coach at the High Performance Developmental A-1 camp in San Francisco. He was the Assistant Coach at the nationally ranked North Idaho College in 2008-2009. As the U-15’s coach for Splash, Trent is looking to have a great competitive year in and out of the Evergreen Region.


Miles Kydd                                                                         U-14 Team Head Coach                                     Miles Kydd is the Head Coach of the Eastern Washington Eagles Volleyball team. He brings over 25 years of collegiate and club coaching experience to the Spokane Splash Volleyball Club. He is the former head coach at the University of Regina in Saskatchewan, Canada from 1994-2002. He was also an Assistant Coach for the Canadian National Team for 10 years and coached Canada at the 1999 World Student Games in Spain. He spent 16 years coaching at the 18’s level for the Radz volleyball club, the Saskatchewan Provincial Team, which at its peak, finished 2nd in the Canadian Nationals. Kydd is a Level III NCCP coach, USACAP certified, a level 1-3 NCCP Course Conductor, and a NCCP Master Course Conductor.


John Reid
U-13 Team Head Coach 

Mt. Spokane High School Varsity Coach John Reid joins Splash Volleyball with a wealth of coaching and playing experience. John has spent over 30 years in the sport of volleyball. He played at the college level and has coached at the national, club, and high school level for the past three decades. He graduated from Cal State University, Fullerton, CA in 1977 where he played volleyball and then joined the Circulo Militar in Fortaleza, Brazil. His resume of clubs and schools under his belt is spectacular such as: Mission Valley Volleyball Club, Laguna Beach, California, from U-12, thru U-18; He has coached at the following high schools: Brea Olinda High School Brea, California; Esperanza High School, Yorba Linda, California; North Central High School in Spokane, WA. John is currently in his 11th year of coaching at Mt. Spokane. 


Corina Roberts
U-12 Team Head Coach 

Corina Roberts has been a club coach for six years at all age levels. A previous U-12 team captured the Silver Division at Evergreen Regionals. As a player, Roberts played at the net for SFCC for two years, and was a Varsity and Club player all four years while at Shadle High School. Roberts says she likes this age group because of their pure excitement for the game!
